WHALING MUSEUM
Learn about the unique history of industry of Nantucket Island and the little island's rise and fall as the Whaling capital of the world. The museum is located right downtown and houses a large collection of whaling artifacts and memorabilia, including longboats, harpoons, and scrimshaw, but the centerpiece is the complete skeleton of a 46-foot bull Sperm whale suspended from the ceiling. True to its original use as a candle factory, the museum also features exhibits of candle-making. It's a fascinating perspective on the evolution of industry on the island.

GOLF COURSES
Golf anyone? Nantucket has a rich history of golf and is well-known for its golf courses, some of which are private, but two public courses that are also very popular and are great for pro and recreational golfers alike:
Miacomet Golf - 18-hole public golf facility - This link-style course is located one mile from the ocean and three miles from town. The course is owned by the Nantucket Island Land Bank and was named after an area of the island once inhabited by Native Americans referred to as "Miacomet" or "the meeting place".
Sconset Golf - 9-hole public golf facility - Developed in 1894 and located 6 miles east of town, the Old Siasconset Golf Course – usually shortened to the Sconset Golf Course or “Skinner’s,” after co-owner Robert “Skinner” Coffin – is among the first 100 courses in the country and is believed to be the oldest privately-owned golf course still being played.
BIKE RIDING
Nantucket is well known for having great biking and easy access to bike paths. Most of the island is accessible by bike-- the island is only 5 miles wide and 17 miles long-- and, most importantly, it's totally flat, so no hills! We recommend biking to the brewery or adventuring out to Madaket Beach or the small town of Sconset. Depending on your destination, there are rewards at the end of each:
Brewery - Self-explanatory
Madaket - Millie's is a great stop for lunch or just some Guacamole and Margaritas!
Sconset - Claudette's Sandwich Shop for lunch and since the ride is far out there, grab an ice cream from Sconset Market and take a stroll on the Bluff Walk.

GREAT POINT
Discover one of the most fascinating wildlife sanctuaries on the island. Great Point is a 5-mile stretch of beach at eastern tip of the island that leads to where the currents of the Atlantic Ocean and Nantucket Sound meet, highlighted by Great Point Light. An adventure that will not disappoint, it features incredible wildlife, the best fishing on the island, rare flowers and spectacular views.
This adventure requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We recommend a tour by the wildlife refuge (no vehicle required) or renting a Jeep if you are feeling ambitious.
